Summer House was great! Great location and beautiful and well equipped. Views were beautiful. Nice pool. The beaches have changed and at high tide there was very little beach. So sad the erosion that has occurred.

501 Summer House is a luxurious rental with exemplary views of the ocean. You can see both ends of the island with gorgeous views of the ocean from the many windows and the balcony. You can see the beautiful sunrise from the balcony.
Check in at Island Realty is a breeze and Summer House has luggage carts to make moving in easy.
The condo is tastefully furnished and the beds are comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need to cook. The living room has comfortable furniture and there are 2 eating areas. Two bedrooms have sliding doors to the balcony, but one does not. This is good because you would not want a young child to be able to open the door to the balcony from his bedroom.
** The only caveat is that you can not sit on the beach all day. Around high tide there is no beach. This is about 3 hours. The water comes to the dunes, and you aren't supposed to sit on the dunes because they protect from erosion. This is the case for all the rentals at this end of the island.
However, the condo does have a nice pool. Also there is a clean restroom in the pool area.

Island Realty was a pleasure to deal with from my first phone call to the easy check in. We had no problems during our stay. The unit was as advertised -clean, well equipped with extraordinary views. The building and grounds were well maintained. The pool and path to the beach were just steps away. Our experience could not have been better.

The condo has a beautiful view of the ocean. The inside is spacious with a bathroom for each bedroom and a HUGE tv in the main room. We’re football fans and enjoyed watching the games. The hotel down the street has lots of shopping and restaurants. We didn’t realize this until our last day. It’s like a whole little city, definitely check it out! Would stay here again!

Our family loved this condo. The views from the windows and balcony were spectacular. If you wake up early, you can see the sun rise from the balcony. In fact, you can lounge in bed and see the sunrise from one of the three sliding glass doors. The bedroom with 2 beds does not have a door to the balcony, which makes it good for kids because you probably don't want small kids to be able to go on the balcony without your knowledge.
Another great feature is that there are two clean restrooms off the Summer House pool. So if you are enjoying a beach day, you can use the restroom without going back to your condo. You are given a code to the pool gate.
Check in with Island Realty is easy as it is in a convenient location you pass when driving into Wild Dunes. Moving into the condo is also easy as there are luggage carts by the elevator.
The condo itself is tastefully decorated with comfortable seating in the living room. We appreciated the leather seating as it is comfortable and cleaner than cloth seating. The beds were comfortable and the sheets and towels were high quality.
The kitchen is large and there is plenty of room for a couple of people to cook.
While we were on vacation, we enjoyed breakfast at Acme Cantina; don't leave without trying their shrimp and grits! The SC Aquarium in Charleston was just wonderful.

Family vacation. Week at Summer House. Great weather, condo, food and relaxing time. Room was clean, well located, nicely decorated, equipped kitchen and washer/dryer were easy. Nice tvs. Booking was easy and friendly as always. Nice pool, but some confusion about when it was open. Showers coming off the beach and pool restrooms were nice.

Easy check-in, easy keypad entry, wi-fi worked great. The condo was very well appointed and clean. The highlight was the spectacular view from the balcony. The kitchen dishware, glasses, utensils and cooking pots and pans were clean as well as the refrigerator. Everything worked - no malfunctions. Move-in was a bit challenging - the custodian had to get us a cart from the other unit and it was wobbly and unstable. I have never experienced a comfortable bed in any of the condos we have rented from Island Realty over the years, including this one. Access to the beach and to the swimming pool is great. Despite our stay being over the Labor Day weekend, the beaches were not crowded and were beautiful.
Summerhouse overall is pleasant and we would stay there again.

This is definately one of the best equipped and maintained units on the entire island. The sunrise views are outstanding. Even the pillows in the master are king size. The only thing missing is a clock in the bedrooms. I have already reserved it for next year (2023) to celebrate our 61st wedding anniversary.

This is a wonderfully laid out accommodation. Two bedrooms have ocean views and access to the front porch. The views are stunning! Plenty of room for the 5 of us-- 3 bathrooms and a breakfast nook and dining table. The elevator, walk-in shower and ocean facing front porch made it perfect for my 92 year old mother. Everything we needed was there!

This condo is right on the beach with a great view of the ocean from the long balcony. The rooms are nicely furnished with lots of space. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking. Big pantry. Laundry makes it easy to wash beach towels. I only wish the home owner had provided a vacuum or wet mop as the floors are filthy.

501 Summer House is well-appointed: great internet signal and the biggest TV we've ever seen in the living area (as well as TVs in bedrooms). The sofa and living area chairs were not super comfortable, but it was nice to have ample seating for everyone in our family. The condo was well maintained and Summer House (as a complex) is looking great too: fast elevator, great beach, etc. We would strongly recommend and are likely to return.

Summerhouse 501 is fabulous! We stayed there in October and returned end of February. The unit was spotless - even cleaner than in October (and it was spotless in October). Gives us peace of mind during this pandemic! We cook all our meals in the unit and kitchen very well stocked. The views are awesome and love the balcony.

I stayed in this unit 3-4 times in the 1990s. I was looking forward to going back. I love the complex and floor plan. Kitchen is really nice. Master bed was very comfortable. The only negative feedback I have is that the couches are awful to sit on. Hated them. Will probably rent in the future, but only if the couches are replaced.

It was a very enjoyable time with cooperating weather and pleasant temps. The unit was well equipped and clean. Our only critical recommendation would be to replace the lounging furniture. Both sofa and loveseat have seen better days as far as being comfortable and pleasant to sit on.

This condo is spacious and offers great views. Beautifully decorated and a very short walk to the beach. The housekeeping staff did dust or clean well, so we cleaned the place on our own. The condo owner had just finished redecorating but shoved all old artwork in the bedroom closets so we had no room to place our clothes or luggage. This should have been addressed before the condo was rented.

We have been coming to the IOP since 1989 and this is by far the best condo we have stayed in. Wonderful sunrise and ocean views. Very clean and updated. Had everything that you might need. Our original reservations were for May but had to be rescheduled due to the virus. We were very impressed with all of the Covid19 precautions that were being followed everywhere in SC and especially everyone on the island and in Charleston. For the first time in months we felt comfortable getting out and about. We have already reserved the same unit for April 2021 to come back for a concert.

Located right on the beach the sound of waves and seagulls were only surpassed by the gorgeous sunrises and starry nights. The condo was spacious, clean, and well-furnished, with a long balcony and lots of lnatural light. The area is quiet and well maintained. Access to restaurants and shopping is an easy 15 minute drive.
